Split3r is a dedicated tool to automatically split oversized STL models into perfectly fitting, interlocking parts that can be printed on multiple standard printers, often faster and cheaper than a single large-format machine.

Core concept

Drag & drop your STL, pick a printer from 150+ presets, set cut size/position, and preview the result instantly.

The software generates automatic tenons and hollow pyramids for strong, alignment-friendly assembly with less support material.

Performance & scope

Designed for very large models, tested on huge STL files (up to ~250 MB).

Efficient pre-split/split engine leveraging Blender’s geometry core.

On a capable PC, a complex 1:1 car bumper (~2010×696×795 mm) can be split in ~5 minutes (≈104 parts).

Requires meshes that are clean, watertight, and contain a single solid body.

Simple Workflow (4 steps)

1 - Prepare : Prepare your part, Scale...

2 - Pre-Split : Adjust X/Y/Z cutting planes; simulate and preview in real time.

3 - Split : Generate STLs, joints, tenons, and labels; ready for your slicer.

4 - Check & Print : Review parts, then drop them into PrusaSlicer / Orca / Bambu Studio, which will arrange them.

Assembly & identification

Configurable number of tenons per face (from a few pins to full coverage) to reduce print time and material.

Automatic engraved part markings (e.g., X.Y.Z-n) and STL filenames for easy identification.

Exploded View mode with automatic labeling to validate cuts and guide reassembly.

Advanced joint mechanics

Pyramidal tenons optimized for support-free printing; male on positive cut side, female on negative, aiding auto-centering.

Hollow pyramids + separately printed tenons reduce supports and improve printability on complex geometries.

Adjustable clearance for press-fit or looser fits.

Adjustable tenons size from 2mm up to more than 20mm
